Dell XPS 13 review (2015): Meet the world's smallest 13-inch laptop

CES has come and gone; the holidays are long past; and now all we're left with are a few months of dreary weather. No fun, right? Right. Except if you're a tech writer. Now that most major companies have revealed their new lineups, we have the exciting job of testing all this stuff; seeing how it holds up in real life. The first product of the year to cross my desk: none other than the Dell XPS 13, a compact 13-inch laptop that ranked as a finalist for our annual Best of CES awards. In addition to being the first system we've tested with Intel's new fifth-generation Core processor, the redesigned XPS is notable for its nearly bezel-less display -- a design feat that allows it to have the footprint of an 11-inch machine. Particularly with a starting price of $800 (pretty reasonable for a flagship laptop), it seemed poised to become one of our new favorite Ultrabooks. And you know what? It actually is. ...

ZDNet does not explicitly confirm that the new phone will be called the “Galaxy S9,” but any name other than that would be a surprise. Earlier reports suggested that Samsung would show off the Galaxy S9 and the larger Galaxy S9+ at CES this week, but that hasn’t happened. Samsung unveiled the current Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ at its own “Galaxy Unpacked” event in March last year before putting the phones on sale in April. For several years prior to that, however, the company first revealed its latest top-end smartphones at Mobile World Congress, a major conference for the mobile industry. HP Chromebox G2 has a Kaby Lake Core i7 and 16GB RAM

HP returns to the Chromebox. We saw some excellent Chromebooks in 2017, but the market for Chromeboxes has been much quieter. However, just in time for CES 2018, HP's announced its all-new Chromebox G2. For first impressions, the G2 doesn't look all that exciting. In fact, if you quickly glanced at the thing, you might mistake it for an Apple TV. On the outside of the G2 is a solid selection of ports, including a 3.5mm headphone jack, one USB Type-C, three USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, one HDMI output, and one RJ-45 connector (not to mention a microSD slot). Take a peek inside the G2, and that's when you realize why you might want to consider buying the thing. You can choose to pick up a configuration with Intel's Celeron 3865U, but we'd recommend going with the Kaby Lake Core i5 (7300U) or i7 (8650U). The Celeron model ships with Intel HD Graphics 610, but going for either the i5 or i7 will bump you up to Intel UHD Graphics 620. You can get up to 16GB of DD...

iPhone destruction is started.

iPhone X Destruction Highlights The iPhone X comes with a great new design and a stunning display Cameras and overall performance are great as well; Face ID works reliably However, spending ~1 lakh rupees on a phone doesn't make sense for most It’s safe to say that the iPhone X has been the most-talked about tech product of 2017. The anticipation for the tenth anniversary iPhone started last year , well before the usual time for the iPhone rumour mill to start whirring. While the launch itself may have been without too many surprises - thanks to the generous number of leaks, the biggest from Apple itself - that didn’t stop the iPhone X from grabbing everyone’s attention, not least because it made Rs. 1 lakh phones a reality. The iPhone has never been about specifications, and that’s never been more true than with the iPhone X, which shares most of its internals with the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus , but is nothing like any other iPhone - new or old - in terms of...

Is your iPhone battery causing your smartphone to run slowly? Here's what to do

Apple has now apologized for slowing down older iPhones as their batteries age, which could lead you to ask, "What does this mean to me and my iPhone?" The device maker says it has been using software updates to help prolong the life of batteries in several models including the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The fix helped "avoid unexpected shutdowns" and protected the phones, Apple says , but also caused some phones to take longer to launch apps and do other functions. As awareness of the slowdown spread, some consumers filed lawsuits charging the Cupertino, Calif. tech company with deliberately sabotaging older smartphones to prompt new sales. If your iPhone seems slow, buying a new one isn't your only option. You could instead replace the battery. To appease customers Apple is lowering the price of replacement batteries for iPhone 6 models or later from $79 to $29, starting in late January and th...
